He is both professional and patient (and as someone else mentioned has a locals understanding and an international travellers perspective due to time living abroad). The provided mobile phone, trip app and whatsapp group was a bonus giving instant communication. I am in my seventies and travelled alone, everything was flawless, with great guides, mix of hotels and arranged tours. I believe Lulo only uses the best guides and drivers. I was fortunate to have 'Hernando' as my driver most of the time and despite my not speaking Spanish and his not speaking English didn't matter one bit, we communicated regardless! I felt totally cared for the whole time.
I would highly recommend Lulo Colombia to anyone, without a moment's hesitation.

Daniel chose just the right accommodations in each city, listening to us when we said we preferred smaller, family-owned properties, always in the heart of the city. He provided knowledgeable and friendly guides when we said we were interested in history and architecture. He directed us to delicious restaurants known for their vegetarian options for my husband. He even found an English speaking AA meeting for me in Medellin!
Our transfers were flawless with boarding passes arriving in the app the day before each departure. Our drivers were prompt and courteous.
All that support from Lulo Travel and Daniel left us completely free to enjoy beautiful Columbia and marvel at her wonders. One of our best travel experiences and there have been many.

We had Lulo book most of our accommodations, transportation, and some of our... read more tours. They were so easy to deal with throughout the planning process and were incredibly responsive in answering my many questions prior to arrival.
The tours they arranged with English-speaking guides were excellent. They were authentic, well-organized, and memorable. The accommodations were also great, and it’s clear they have strong relationships with reliable drivers and guides all over the country. They also provided really useful advice on when it made more sense to fly versus take a private car, which made a big difference in how smoothly the trip went.
One of the many highlights of the trip was staying in a cabin at Reverie Eco-Hotel and meeting the Lulo's owners Daniel and Charlotte at their beautiful plantation hotel.
We also really appreciated having access to a phone and a 24/7 emergency line for travel issues. We were especially grateful for their support in helping us navigate an urgent medical situation. Having someone check you in for your flights is also an underrated bonus of booking!

We hope to return to Colombia soon and will use Lulo again!

From our first interaction, Daniel was responsive, thoughtful, and professional. His communication was excellent (and his English is perfect), and he consistently delivered exactly what he said he would. Before we arrived, he created a WhatsApp group so we could easily reach him or his team at any time — a small detail that made a big difference.
Colombia is absolutely worth visiting — the people, food, culture, and varied landscapes are extraordinary — and the coffee region did not disappoint. From Salento to Filandia and everywhere in between, Daniel curated a seamless mix of hotels, experiences, and guides that de-stressed a normally tricky planning process and delighted! As a really shrewd Colombian who has also lived abroad as well, he brings both a local’s understanding and an international traveler’s perspective. After taking the time to understand what we enjoy, he designed an itinerary that fit us perfectly.
One of the highlights was staying at Reverie Hotel, the magnificent mountain retreat he and his wife, Charlotte, own near Filandia. As I mentioned in a separate review, the property is stunning — architecturally distinctive, peaceful, and beautifully integrated into nature. Experiencing their hospitality there makes it obvious why they are such impressive travel planners. They think of both the big picture and the smallest details, often anticipating what would make our experience more comfortable or more special before we even asked.
We’ve loved our time in Colombia, and our experience with Lulo — especially our stay at Reverie. Daniel and Charlotte operate with integrity, warmth, and a level of care that other travel professionals could learn from. We would work with them again without hesitation.

We have returned home from our 19 day trip and feel that Lulo is very deserving of their excellent reviews. Everything was as promised, communication was excellent and in every case the drivers and guides were wonderful.

We have tried to decide what the favorite part of the vacation was, but really can’t decide. What we can say is that we never encountered any political turbulence, we felt safe the entire time. They are the perfect mix of local/boutique/Colombia and experienced/professional/expert. We’re hesitant to work with the huge global tour companies, although I’m sure many of those are very good. But Lulo was the perfect fit for us. I had researched a lot in advance, but they guided me to tweak with my planned itinerary in a very good way. By my own admission, I’m very particular and picky! This was my husband’s and my first trip to South America but we’ve travelled in Europe extensively, and know exactly what we want and don’t want, and what can go wrong without proper planning or without an expert tour company as support. I desired a highly customized arrangement – certain tours and day trips, with expert and experienced English-speaking guides, and transfers, and intra-Colombia flight bookings – all arranged by Lulo – but also free time in the itinerary to explore museums and do other activities on our own, which my husband and I love. I also like to book my own hotels – Daniel and Char provided excellent recommendations to guide our decisions. Anytime I sent a text while in Colombia with a little request or change, they responded immediately and well. Their trip app, with all of the travel documents and guidance, was expert, complete and perfect. When our daughter became ill during the trip, the team went above and beyond. Every hotel had its own personality with very warm yet professional staffs, every tour and event was conducted with passion and the requisite skill and knowledge sets and every one of the many internal travel segments were timely and very comfortable. If we had any need whether as part of the plan or for anything extra it was met with an all out attempt to find a solution. A special shout out to Hernando who was our driver for 18 days as he was so much more than a driver. He was our leader and did everything and more to always keep us on the right path and provide insights into the Colombian life and its politics. He was a joy to be with and we are grateful he was able to be with us for as many days as possible.
All in all we highly recommend that anyone who wants to build a wonderful and a well valued tour of Colombia must put themselves in the hands of Daniel and Charlotte.
