For centuries these indigenous people have been living in the mountains of the Sierra Nevada. They are easily recognized by their typical white and naturally made clothes and long hair for both women and men.

They live in tribalism and still follow many ancient customs and rituals. You will visit a little village with their typical huts.

This unique tour starts at 08:30 am and will take around 5 hours. Even though the main topic of this tour is to get to learn about this indigenous tribe, by taking this tour, you will also get to discover amazing nature and landscapes along the way.

Your guide will be accompanied by a Wiwa indigenous leader who will give you plenty of information about their culture and ways of living. You can ask him as many questions as you wish.

You will be taken to visit some huts build by this indigenous group. They don’t always live there as they are a semi-nomadic tribe, but you can enter the houses and discover how they were built and how they look from the inside.

Afterwards, you will visit a permaculture project where you can learn about this alternative farming techniques that are being promoted in the area.

Here, you will also enjoy a delicious traditional lunch and do some short walks in the surroundings. You will also visit a cocoa plantation in the mountains and learn everything there is to know about making chocolate.

Finally, you will be brought back to your hotel.
