GUATAPE AND PEÑOL
On this full-day tour from Medellin you will first visit the colorful town of Guatapé.
This charming town is famous for its adorable colored houses that are beautifully adorned on the lower parts of the walls. Afterwards you will set course to the massive rock of Peñol. If you feel like it, you could take a boat trip on the lake and enjoy the views over the village and the rock of Peñol from below.
This is a 200 meter high monolithic rock overlooking a gigantic man-made lake full of scattered islands. You will be rewarded with spectacular views after climbing the 649 steps through a crack of the rock.
After this visit you will drive the 90 kilometres (56 miles) back to Medellin via stunning mountains.

To Keep In Mind About the Guatapé and Peñol Tour
The drive to Peñol takes around 3 hours so we recommend to leave early in the morning to avoid traffic jams building up in Medellin center. It is also nice to be arriving back at Medellin around 6:00 pm because you may be treated to a beautiful sunset over the city before you start descending down the valley.
