SANTA ISABEL
GLACIER HIKE

Hike your way up into the mountains to reach the Santa Isabel Glacier at an altitude of 4693 m.a.s.l (15 396 ft) and enjoy the amazing views and the unique nature of this place.

Adventure and Hiking Day!

You will have a challenging but gorgeous hike up to the gorgeous snow-caped mountains of this region. More specifically to the Glacier of the Santa Isabel mountain. 

You will be picked up at 4:00 am at your hotel by our English-speaking guide and driver. After a couple of hours driving through beautiful scenery, you will arrive to the starting point of the hike, where you will first get breakfast so you are full of energy.

The entire hike takes about 5 challenging hours (around 7 km / 4,3 miles) and you will reach the glacier at an altitude of about 4693 m.a.s.l (15396 ft.). You will cross a unique paramo and walk on snow so let your eyes feast on these breathtaking surroundings!

After the hike, you will get lunch and start the drive back to your hotel, arriving around 6:00 pm.

Note: with this daytrip, you will get to the place where the glacier begins, but you will not be able to reach the top of the mountain.

If you would like to climb the glacier up to its top, you will have to spend the previous night at the base camp (at around 4000 m.a.s.l.) to give time to your body to acclimatize to the altitude.
