Zipaquira is a must-visit for those who love culture and impressive engineering. The famous Salt Cathedral of this city is one of the most monumental salt-rock deposit´s in the world.

Here you can admire how Catholic symbology and contemporary engineering resulted in the construction of this huge underground cathedral.

You will be picked up in the morning by our guide and driver and undertake the drive of about 2 hours to Zipaquira. Here you and your guide will go 180 meters underground in this former salt mine and you will follow the Via Crucis that was created by sculptors using local mining materials and lighting effect.

Your guide will tell you more about the history of the mine, the materials, the engineering and the symbology of the the art work.

Afterwards, you will pay a visit to the municipality of Zipaquira, hometown of famous cyclist Egan Bernal. This place is a typical colonial village and was declared a National Monument.
