We hebben het dan over de enorme regio tussen de oostelijke bergrug van het Andesgebergte en de Venezolaanse grens in het noordoosten.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Colombianen noemen deze regio &#8220;Los Llanos&#8221;, wat zich vertaalt naar het &#8216;vlakke land&#8217; en het is gemakkelijk te zien waarom ze dat doen. Het is een gebied dat wordt gekenmerkt door uitgestrekte graslanden en vlaktes waar echte wegen bijna niet voorkomen en waar maar weinig mensen wonen.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Dankzij deze kenmerken is het gebied de thuisbasis van een ongewone verscheidenheid aan dieren in Zuid-Amerika! Wilde dieren zoals anaconda&#8217;s, miereneters, toekans, otters, herten, brulapen, capibara&#8217;s, kaaimannen en nog veel meer leven vreedzaam samen met de koeien van de ranches die je op vele kilometers afstand van elkaar vindt.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Hoewel de vlaktes na een tijdje misschien eindeloos lijken, kun je hier ook magische plekken vinden zoals de roze rivier van Ca\u00f1o Cristales.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">De lokale bevolking leeft voornamelijk van veeteelt. Ze doen de dingen nog steeds op de traditionele en ouderwetse manier, dus wees niet verbaasd als je een echte &#8220;cowboy&#8221; (Llanero) op blote voeten op zijn paard ziet rijden.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Paarden zijn geliefd bij hun eigenaren en ze worden over het algemeen bereden door goed getrainde en begaafde ruiters.
