The mountains surrounding Tierradentro are absolutely stunning. However, it might be a bit challenging for some under us to walk them a full day. It is possible to arrange with the driver to be picked up at certain points so you reduce the difficulty of your tour.
Tierradentro is an indigenous reserve belonging to the Páez People (Information here). For this reason, only local and indigenous people of the region are allowed to work in tourism. They do not speak English (yet), and even Spanish is only their second language. However, they are excellent at making themselves understandable and will speak with passion about their region.
