Day 1 – ARRIVAL IN THE JUNGLE!

After arrival in the airport of Leticia, you will be picked up and immediately taken to the harbour to take a private boat to the Calanoa Lodge.

The boat ride takes around 1.5 hours along the Amazon River. You will already have your first impressions of the exuberant nature surrounding the river.

After arrival in the lodge, you will have a delicious lunch cooked with ingredients from the jungle.

In the afternoon, you will go on a boat trip to the border with Peru to spot some wildlife and look for the amazing pink dolphins.

You will also go watch the sunset in a magic location and then return to the lodge.

In the evening, after dinner, you will go on a night walk through the jungle to spot some night animals and insects.

ACCOMMODATION: CALANOA LODGE

The Calanoa Natural Reserve, where your accommodation is located, is at the very heart of the Amazon forest, yet easy to access, and its surroundings are an endless source of marvel. It is a low-impact, small-scale settlement.

Calanoa’s cuisine is a fusion of local Amazonian traditions with Brazilian, Colombian and Peruvian cuisine, put together by the owners’ creativity. Organic and fresh local produce, fire wood cooking and their famous freshly baked bread contribute to a delightful experience.

Accommodation: Calanoa Lodge –  a private cabin with a double bed and private bathroom.

Day 2 – INDIGENOUS COMMUNITIES AND JUNGLE!

In the morning, after breakfast, you will visit an indigenous community where you will get to see some gorgeous murals that have been made thanks to the help of the owners of the Calanoa Lodge.

Here you will also get to see how local indigenous communities live in harmony with the surrounding nature.

In the afternoon, after lunch, you will do a walk through the reserve to get to the Matamata cascade, bordering the Amacayacu Natural Park. Here a canoe picks you up to return to the Calanoa lodge by water (if the water level allows it).

Day 3 – MOCAGUA ISLAND AND MORE JUNGLE

In the morning, after breakfast, you will go on an amazing walk on the island of Mocagua, considered part of the Amacayaku National Park. This park has unique species of flora and fauna.

In the afternoon, you will take a boat trip to Vista Alegre on the Peruvian margin of the Amazon River for an incredible sighting of flooded jungle fauna and flora.

Day 4 – FISHING FOR PIRANHAS!

In the morning, you will go fishing for piranhas in the traditional way indigenous communities have been doing it for years.
